Claremorris Church Opens Its Doors
Wednesday 25 March 2026 11:31 What began as a small gathering in a town hall has become something far greater. On 21 March 2026, the growing church in Claremorris, County Mayo, celebrated the official opening of its very first building — a powerful milestone and a testament to God’s faithfulness.
Church planting in small towns can often seem impossible — especially in Europe. But where there is faith, obedience, and generosity, God continues to surprise us beyond expectations.
When ECMI workers Jonathan and Nicola first sensed God’s call to Claremorris, a town with no evangelical church, they began simply. A small group met in the town hall. It was humble, but it was a beginning.
And God began to move.
Through outreach and discipleship, people from different nationalities and backgrounds gathered, united by a shared desire to know Jesus. Slowly but surely, the group grew — until the town hall was no longer big enough to hold them.
The idea of buying a building felt overwhelming. But they were not alone.
Supporters came alongside them — praying, giving, and believing with them. In time, over €400,000 was given, making it possible not only to purchase a building but to establish a lasting presence for the gospel in the town.
Then came a moment to celebrate.
On 21 March 2026, the church officially opened the doors of its new building. It was more than just a ribbon-cutting — it was a joyful declaration of all that God has done. A space once imagined is now filled with worship, community, and hope.

Today, the church in Claremorris stands as a lighthouse in County Mayo — a visible sign of God’s faithfulness and the fruit of generosity. And this is just the beginning.
Your Generosity Matters
The story of Claremorris is a reminder that generosity truly makes a difference. Through your giving, missionaries are sent, churches are planted, and communities encounter the hope of Jesus. When we give, we become part of what God is doing far beyond what we can see. Thank you!
Give to the mission and join us in bringing the gospel to Europe.
