Bodo and Moon-Sook Park
Somi, Damin
Bodo and Moon-Sook Park provide leadership to a new church plant in Frankfurt’s Oberrad area, in a partnership with the Free Evangelica Churches in Germany.
Bodo was born in Frankfurt after his parents immigrated from South Korea. Moon-Sook, a gifted musician, moved to Frankfurt from South Korea as a young adult to further her music education. They met in Frankfurt’s vibrant Korean Christian community and, after marrying, began planting churches together.
The Oberrad project is the Parks’ third church plant in Frankfurt since 2005. The two previous churches, located near the city center and in the Sachsenhausen community, continue to flourish. Frankfurt is the fifth largest city in a country of merely 2.1% evangelicals, and the city’s rich Christian heritage has given way to a post-Christian environment.
Oberrad, a community of 13,500, is situated on the southern bank of the Main River. Bodo spent his youth in Oberrad, and the Parks have lived in the adjacent district for many years. They begin this undertaking with a keen understanding of the local culture, including its spiritual challenges and unique ministry opportunities. Bodo and Moon-Sook are pleased to have a gifted young German couple joining them at the outset, and together they will dedicate the next several months to focused prayer and pursuing redemptive connections in the community.
Thank you for praying for Bodo, Moon-Sook, Somi, and Damin, as they engage people in Oberrad who have yet to follow Jesus. May God build His Church in Oberrad and beyond.
